An unmissable world premiere! After more than 10 years of world tour and 2 years of redesign in Montignac, the Lascaux 3 exhibition will open its doors at Cap Sciences during summer 2025, marking its one and only stop in France before a new major international tour.
A unique opportunity to discover the wonders of the Lascaux cave and travel back to Prehistory through the brand-new version of the exhibition.
Lascaux, the virtual reality experience
To complete the experience of Lascaux, the international exhibition, this virtual reality activity takes you on a 12-minute interactive adventure, using stand-alone Oculus Quest VR headsets, guided by voice, light and your own hands.
- An original tour scenario inspired by imagination, narrated by the voice of an ancient Sapiens.
- A discovry of the underground world of Lascaux, with the unprecedented opportunity to be alone in the cave and access all galleries, even the deepest and hardest-to-reach areas (the “Feline Diverticulum,” a narrow tunnel, can only be entered by crawling on all fours!).
- An interaction with the paintings and engravings to understand the techniques used by prehistoric artists (brush painting, stamping, stenciling, blowing, spitting, engraving with flint blades, etc.).
Lascaux VR Experience, available in 5 languages (FR, EN, DE, IT, NL).
A family-friendly activity. Parents are encouraged to purchase a ticket for themselves and their child. Unaccompanied minors remain under the responsibility of their parents.
